ExitLag compared with other ping optimisers

We compared 3 route optimisers for games. Where there is no public source, we say so: not verified. We do not repeat marketing claims like "70% lower ping" — nobody can verify them.

Will a route optimiser help you?

Ping is a routing problem, not a bandwidth problem. Your ISP picks the cheapest path to the game server, not the fastest — which is why ping spikes at 9pm on the same hardware. Rule these out first:

If all four are done and it is still bad, the route is the likely cause.

How to test fairly

  1. Pick one game server and one time of day.
  2. Record ping and jitter without the tool, then with it during the trial.
  3. If the ping does not move, routing was not your problem — and you learned that for free.
